Amaranthus Velvet Curtains is an attractive, eye-catching annual or biannual that produces spikes of deep purple flowers above dark crimson leaves, from early summer until autumn.
A very early bloomer and easy to grow from seed, the flower spikes make good cut flowers or can be dried for use in arrangements.
The amaranth’s seeds are edible, as are the young leaves.
This plant growing to 90cm – 120cm, needs a position in full sun with well-drained, light soil and protection from late frosts.
Offered is a 2 gram packet containing 3600 approx. seeds and Grownotes.
