Burmese Pink Cassia
(This plant is NOT on the Australian Noxious Weed List)
A native of Burma (Myanmar), India, Pakistan, Thailand and peninsular Malaysia where it adapts to most types of well-drained, moist soils. It dislikes both drought and frost.
An deciduous small tree growing to 6 to 10 metres with a spread of 5 metres; it has an erect, branching stem and open, rounded crown. The name ‘renigera’ refers to the odd kidney shaped bracts from which the leaf stalks emerge.
The leaves are mid green, compound, consisting of 8 to 12 leaflets that are very soft to the touch. The massive display of flowers are rich pink, showy, bowl shaped and five petalled, the colour fading to almost white as the flowers age.
Offered is a packet of 10 seeds and Grownotes to assist you to cultivate this tree.
All my seed travels safely with bubble wrap protection.
