(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)
A native of the sand plains and ranges of southern West Australia where it prefers light, sandy soils in an open, sunny position. It is drought and frost resistant.
An evergreen tree to 25 metres and a spread of 6 metres, this Eucalypt was renamed Corymbia calophylla when the bloodwoods were separated out of the genus Eucalyptus.

The flowers are creamy white to pale pink appearing in summer. The fruit (gumnut) are large urn-shaped capsules and the seed is extremely large for the genus and able to be handled individually.
