A native of West Australia and the Northern Territory where it prefers light to medium, moist soils in a protected, sunny position. It dislikes both frost and drought.
An evergreen tree growing to a height of 15 metres with a spread of 3 metres in its natural habitat, this tree is smaller in cultivation. The stem is erect and stout with spreading branches, fibrous, grey bark and a densely textured crown. The leaves are glossy, lanceolate with undulating margins and 17cm long; the flower buds are ribbed and club-shaped occurring in groups of 3 to 7; the flowers are white, pink or red appearing in autumn while the fruit (gumnuts) are large, warty, ribbed capsules.
Offered is a packet of 15 seeds (no chaff) along with grow notes to assist you in their propagation.
