This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.
Blanket flowers are one of the longest blooming perennials, well suited to hot, sunny sites. The Dwarf Sundance cultivar forms a low mound of olive-green leaves, bearing large flame red blooms, each petal tipped with golden yellow.
These easy care flowers prefer full sun, are not fussy about soil type or pH and tolerate average moisture to dryness. The plant grows to 20 – 30cm high (8-12in) with a spread of 25-30cm (10-12in) and has a fast growth rate.
Useful as a border, mass planting, in pots and as a cut flower, it is also deer and rabbit resistant (don’t know about kangaroos though).
