English or True Lavender
Lavandula angustifolia syn. officinalis
English or True Lavender is not a native of England but native to Mediterranean France, Italy and the Balkan countries. A very popular aromatic herb growing to 1 metre, it has been in cultivation for centuries.
Used as a cut flower or posy, dried for potpourri, distilled for its oil, as an ingredient for cooking and aromatherapy in which it is seen as a cure for insomnia.
Lavender prefers a sunny position, is not fussy about soils provided it is well-drained, will tolerate drought and some frost and retains its aroma long after its blossoms have faded.
Offered is a packet of approximately 500 seeds with propagation instructions.
All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
