Robin Red Breast

Melaleuca laterita

A native of Western Australia it grows to 2 metres with a spread of 1 metre and likes well-drained light to medium soils in an open, sunny position. It is frost tolerant (zones 9 to 11).

An evergreen erect shrub, it has small, light green leaves which are aromatic when crushed. Its flowers, which appear spring to summer, are orange-red spikes to 8cm long.

Offered is a packet of 200 seeds (including chaff) with propagation notes.
