Nierembergia Purple Robe

Nierembergia Purple Robe is a compact, violet-blue flowered cup flower that grows to 15 cm (6 in) tall and spreads some 30 cm (12 in) wide along the soil surface. 25mm (1 in) flowers cover the plant in early summer and persist until the first frost. Slim, stiff, linear leaves 20 cm long are mid-green.
This plant is a tender perennial and will survive mild winters in a protected position. However, it can be grown as an annual in harsher conditions. Full sun to part shade in moist soil in a cool position is much to its liking and if grown as an annual, cuttings can be taken for next season’s plants.
