A native of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania where it prefers light to medium, well-drained, moist soils in a protected, partly shaded position. It is frost resistant but dislikes drought conditions.
A tall shrub to 4 metres with a spread of 3 metres, with slender branches covered in short, white, woolly hairs (tomentose) supporting a densely textured crown. The leaves are dark green, alternate, 15cm long, lanceolate and tapering to an acute point. Leaf margins are slightly toothed, leaves are smooth on the upper side and woolly underneath. Flowers are white, pink or purple appearing in large, dense panicles in spring.
Offered as a packet of approx. 40 seeds with grownotes.
