A native of Australia and South East Asia growing to 15 metres, this deciduous tree produces a wealth of yellow blooms in 20 cm racemes. This tree is often planted alternately with the Poinciana (Delonix regia) in streetscapes to produce are red & yellow theme. It is planted as a street tree throughout the tropics and subtropics including Africa and Hawaii.
The tree has many uses besides being ornamental. The wood is used for cabinet making, the leaves are used for stock fodder and it produces a brown dye used for dyeing batik cloth in Indonesia.
Offered is a packet of 20 seeds complete with propagation notes.
