Flowering Scoparia
Richea scoparia
This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List
A native of the Alpine regions of Tasmania where it is widespread and abundant. It is a member of the Erica family of heath plants.
A compact, rounded shrub branching from the base, it can grow up to 2 metres (6 ft) high. The branches are covered with stiff, curved, sharp pointed, awl shaped leaves which makes the plant impenetrable and an excellent barrier plant. The terminal flowers are a dense raceme of red, gold, pink or white and most shades in between. They are held above the foliage and give the impression of a shrub covered in candles.
Offered is a packet of approx 50 seeds with propagation notes of this slow growing shrub.
All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
