Sturt’s Desert Pea (syn Clianthus formosa) is a native of inland Australia or the Outback. It prefers light, sandy soils in an open and sunny position and is drought and frost hardy.
This plant is an annual vine that is low growing or prostrate, has grey-green leaves that are silky and divided into leaflets. The flowers are a brilliant, glossy red with a glossy black centre and they appear in dense clusters from winter to spring.
This is a striking plant in any garden and is an annual it can be grown in a pot with sandy soil.
Offered as a packet of 25 seeds with grownotes.
