This Wattle is native to Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria where it likes medium soils in a protected, sunny position. It is frost and drought tolerant, fast growing and very hardy. An evergreen tree growing to 15 metres with a spread of 5 metres.
The stem is green, angled or ridged and erect; the leaves (phyllodes) are dark green, compound, bipinnate and made up of numerous fern-like leaflets; the flowers are whitish-yellow balls, sweetly scented, profuse and appearing in spring; the fruit is long pods constricted between the seeds.
