Gundabluey, Bramble Wattle
Acacia victoriae
A native of all mainland states of Australia, it is very widespread through the semi-arid and arid inland extending to some coastal areas. It is often found along rivers, stony creek beds and saline flats and is very adaptable to soil type.
A very quick growing Wattle to 5 metres, it has an erect stem usually much branched or intricate, the branchlets are round, striate, hairy to smooth and often bluish-green, leaf stipules are formed into a rigid spine about 5mm long and are present on young growth at least.
The leaves are narrowly elliptical, flat and grey-green, 20 – 50 mm long while the flowers are borne in the leaf axils in racemes 100mm long. Flowering is profuse in late Spring to Summer.
The natives used the seeds of this plant for food, grinding the seed into a flour and making a paste to form cakes.
Offered is a packet of 300 seeds complete with Grownotes to assist you in their propagation.
All my seed travels safely with bubble wrap protection.
