Hard Quandong, Blueberry Ash

A small to tall, strongly buttressed tree that has a myriad of common names – Hard Quondong, Blueberry Ash, Whitewood, Grey Carabeen, Freckled Oliveberry and Queensland Ash.
A common, tall tree in lowland subtropical rainforest and a small to medium tree in littoral and dry rainforest growing from north of Gosford on the New South Wales Central and North Coasts into South East Queensland.
An evergreen tree, the stem is erect, straight and stout; the leaves are elliptical with sparsely serrate margins, and 7cm long; the flowers are white and fringed held in racemes among the leaves, appearing in Spring; the fruit are dark-blue berries, 6mm across.
It is drought and frost resistant.
