Pink Mulla Mulla

Ptilotus exaltatus

A native of the arid and semi-arid areas of mainland Australia, this erect, bushy perennial has thick, undulating, bluish-green leaves to 8cm (3in) long the tips of which are tinged red.

The flower spikes which appear winter through summer are feathery, conical to cylindrical spikes to 15cm (6in) long with white, lilac or pink flowers.

Preferring a sunny open position with well-drained, light to medium soils. it is also suitable for pot culture. While being drought hardy, it does not particularly like frost. 

This plant is the subject of trials as to its suitability as an export by the Australian cut flower industry.

Offered is a packet of 35 seeds with propagation notes.
