A native of Australia and New Caledonia, it occurs in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia where it prefers light well-drained soils in a partially shaded position. It is frost resistant but drought tender.
A perennial plant growing to a height of 1 metre with a spread of 0.6 metres. The stems are erect and leaves narrow, linear and opposite similar to the grasses. The flowers are a bright blue with very visible yellow anthers which occur in slender terminal sprays.
Offered as a packet of 20 seeds with grownotes.
