This plant is a small mat-forming succulent from Cape Province of South Africa. It is somewhat rare
and winter growing and flowering.
Growing in dense, clustered rosettes up to 5 cm (2 in.) tall, each rosette is 4 cm (1.6 in.) in diameter.
The leaves are thick, up to 1.8 cm (0.7 in) long, light green to bluish-green or occasionally purplish.
Both surfaces of the leaf are covered with greyish tubercles with a few greyish-white teeth on the upper surface.
Flowers are daisy-like, silky, pale to golden yellow, yellowish bronze or salmon pink. The winter flowers are up to 3 cm (1.2 in) in diameter.
This plant requires a very open gravelly mix, full sun for strong flower colour, and minimal watering in summer as it is dormant. In winter, watering is only done when the mix dries out. Fertilising should only done once per growing season (winter).
