Dwarf Yellow Bloodwood

A native of New South Wales, Australia, Eastern coastal strip from the Hunter Valley (Newcastle) southwards to Nowra where it prefers a variety of well-drained soils in a sunny position. It is drought tolerant but dislikes temperatures much below 0 degrees Celsius,
A densely crowned, small tree growing to 7 meters (21ft) it is perfect for a small property, streetscape or placing a outdoor garden chair in its shade. The stem is erect and covered with a yellowish-brown, soft, flaky bark; the leaves are concolorous (same colour both sides), lanceolate or falcate (sickle shaped), alternate, 20 x 2.5cm, dull and bluish-green; the flowers are terminal panicles, white to cream in August to October (southern hemisphere); the fruit are barrel shaped (gumnuts) with red-brown seed.
The Corymbia were once included in the Eucalyptus genus but all bloodwoods have been separated out and given a genus of their own. They remain in the Myrtaceae family along with Eucalyptus.
Offered is a pack of 20 seeds free of chaff (unfertilised seed) complete with propagation notes to assist you to grow your own Dwarf Yellow Bloodwood.
