(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)
A native of Western Australia on the coastal strip immediately above Perth where it likes well-drained, sandy soil. With annual pruning, it adapts well to pot culture. Despite the common name it tolerates dry periods but will require water in prolonged droughts and it is moderately frost-tolerant to -3°C.
An evergreen shrub growing to a height of 50 cm to 2 metres with a spread of 1 – 1.5 metres, it has simple leaves, virtually no trunk and bears light peach-colours flowers. Flowering commences in autumn and ends very early in spring.
