Ball Cactus Yellow Flower

A native of Brazil and adjacent areas of Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina where it grows on hilly grassland, in rock crevices and in the shade of deciduous forests. It grows in a temperate region with warm and cool seasons which approach freezing on winter nights.
A geometric globular Cactus with wool that starts as a solitary globe and becomes a cluster as the plant matures. Flowering is a bright yellow that usually is in multiples and rarely solitary. The stem is globular becoming shortly cylindrical with age and growing to 30 cm high. It has 11 – 15 straight, symmetrical and acute ribs with white aureoles.
Flowering is in summer to early autumn and may bloom several times in warm weather.
